Frequently Asked Questions
What is your new patient procedure?
Please come 10 minutes prior to your appointment to fill out some paperwork. Your initial appointment will be approximately 60 minutes and will consist of a consultation, assessment and treatment if required. Please wear appropriate clothing (i.e. shorts for a knee ailment, loose-fitting clothes for a hip ailment, etc.)
What types of health insurance do you accept?
We accept all health insurance benefits and will direct bill for you if they allow us. Some insurance companies do not allow "assignment of benefits" which means they will not pay us directly. In these cases we will bill for you and ask you to pay; you will receive reimbursement from your insurance company afterwards.
Do I need a doctor’s referral?
Short answer, no. Long answer, maybe. You do not need a note to receive physiotherapy treatment, but some insurance companies require it to cover the treatment.
What should I expect from a pelvic health physiotherapy appointment?
A pelvic health appointment is approximately 60 minutes and will consist of a consultation, assessment and treatment if required. The assessment and treatment will focus on the pelvis and the muscles and organs around the pelvis and may be performed intra-vaginally or intra-rectally. Your consent will be obtained before any and all treatments
How do I know if pelvic health physiotherapy is for me?
Pelvic health physiotherapy incorporates the assessment and function of the pelvic floor muscles and surrounding structures. Pelvic health treatment can be done proactively or used to treat conditions such as pelvic pain, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse during pregnancy, postpartum or at any point in your life
What if I have a high-risk pregnancy?
